Sponsored Walk and Swim

Some members of Elim Church are undertaking a couple of sponsored events to raise funds for worthy causes in Uganda and new Delhi. For further details please see http://www.charitygiving.co.uk/elim3peaks and http://www.charitygiving.co.uk/elimswim .

Paul Hudson’s is co-ordinating the walk and Clair Oates the swim event.

If you would like to support either of these events, then you can do so directly via the websites above. Tax payers can select 'gift aid' claim and as a result the income tax on the amount you donate can be recovered back for the appeal.

Get Online -  Get Active

Chris Battye has asked me to forward this information to all CTiD Churches:

Get On Line. Get Active is a new programme aimed at helping computer novices to do the basic tasks such as accessing the internet, keeping in touch with friends and relatives as well as some gentle exercise to show how exercise can help you relax and get that feel good factor.

The programme is a partnership between Dewsbury Rams and the Get IT Together programme with partial funding from Kirklees Council. It is aimed at any person male or female aged 25 and above. It is completely free of charge and tea and coffee will be provided.

The course runs on Friday mornings from 10.00am to 12.30pm over a 6 week period starting on Friday 27th April at the Dewsbury Rams Tetley's Stadium on Owl Lane Dewsbury. There are frequent buses from Dewsbury Bus Station (202 and 203) approximately 15 to 20 minutes apart which stop close to the stadium.

Every person taking part will have access to their own computer in the Rams Study Centre in the stadium and there will be lots of help available. The exercise session will be very much gentle exercise with the focus very much on relaxing through exercise rather than fitness and will be aimed at beginners.

Participants will be encouraged to take part in all six sessions.
