How
heavy is
your
heart at
the
moment?
(Not
your
literal
heart of
course!).
People
are
weighed
down
with all
sorts of
pressures
and
concerns
from
those
arising
from the
credit
crunch
to
family
breakdowns,
illness
and any
number
of other
things.
If you
have the
misfortune
of a
combination
of the
above –
well… so
help you
God! But
that’s a
good
place to
start!
You see,
when we
come to
the end
of
ourselves
(and you
don’t
need to
have
lots of
problems
to
recognise
your
need)
God has
the
opportunity
to step
in – if
we take
the
opportunity
to ask
him to.
As part
of my
job as a
children’s
entertainer,
I get to
dress up
amongst
other
things
as a
fairy
godmother
and
bless
the
children,
wishing
for them
lots of
good
things.
There’s
no power
in my
magic
wand of
course,
although
I do
believe
in the
power of
positive
words
and am
mindful
of the
words I
choose.
Sometimes
though I
wish I
could
just
wave my
magic
wand and
make all
of their
problems
disappear!
Alas I
can’t,
but as
they say
‘I know
a Man
who can’
(that’s
from an
old AA
ad if
you’re
under
25!).
Jesus
said
"Come to
me, all
you who
are
weary
and
burdened,
and I
will
give you
rest.
Take my
yoke
upon you
and
learn
from me,
for I am
gentle
and
humble
in
heart,
and you
will
find
rest for
your
souls.
For my
yoke is
easy and
my
burden
is
light."
Matthew
11:28-30.
Exchange
your
baggage
and
worries
today
for a
lighter
tomorrow
with the
Man who
can!
