Happy New Year
2009 has
arrived. What
does it hold in
store for you
and me? If we
read the reports
from the banks
and economists,
or listen to the
financial
advisors and
moneymen on the
radio or TV, the
future is all
doom and gloom.
No one will have
spare cash.
Many will have
their homes
re-possessed and
redundancies
will be at an
all time high.
Happy New Year!
It doesn’t sound
much like it
does it? So
what can we
believe… What
can we do?
Shall we just
accept what we
are told and
dread the future
or shall we put
our trust in one
who is more
caring than
anyone else we
will ever know?
The one who was
born in a
stable, grew up
in Nazareth, and
died on a cross
to save us all
from our sins so
we could be
reconciled with
God the Father.
We won’t find
that all our
problems
disappear. We
won’t suddenly
discover
everything is
perfect, but we
will find a
peace in our
hearts that we
couldn’t have
imagined. For
we all have a
loving Heavenly
Father who longs
for us to
recognise Him
and acknowledge
Him. You don’t
believe it?
Well why not
read St John’s
Gospel chapter 3
verse 16 and
then ask God to
reveal Himself
to you? You
never know, 2009
could turn out
to be the
happiest New
Year yet. I
pray it will be
so.
